Retired Senior Volunteer Program
Misson: Recruit, support, and provide volunteer opportunities and experiences for persons over 55 years of age. RSVP offers these services to non-profit agencies and organizations through out the communities allowing our volunteers to utilize their own talents and interests in fulfilling the needs of others.
RSVP of Peoria and Tazewell County provides volunteer opportunities to people 55 years of age and older through out Peoria and Tazewell Counties. We collaborate with over 100 not for profit agencies, many of which are funded by Heart of Illinois United Way, to provide volunteer support so they may achieve their mission.
Important Facts:
- 1,162RSVP volunteers put in more than 106,600 hours at over 270 different jobs at 115not for profit agencies, schools, hospitals, and organizations.
- Based on federal cost projections, this represents RSVP volunteers providing over $2,080,000.00 in volunteer services to local agencies
- We receive federal and state funds totally $100,531.00 to operate this program, which means state and federal costs for an hour of an RSVP volunteer is only 94 cents!
RSVP does not ask for local United Way dollars, rather, RSVP supports United Way efforts by linking over one thousand volunteers to United Way agencies as well as countless other not for profit educational, medical, faith based, humanitarian, and social advocacy organizations.
